STOP ECOCIDE
(n) “Destruction of the natural environment by deliberate or negligent human action”

Sign the open letter for an Ecocide law to protect and support our relationship with the ocean.

Recognising those worst harms - “ecocide” - in international criminal law sets a preventive and necessary parameter to ensure that human activity stays within safe boundaries. Such a law will create accountability at the highest levels of decision-making in government and industry, encouraging due diligence and strongly reinforcing existing regulations pertaining to ocean protection.

#STOPROSEBANK
The UK government has just approved Rosebank, the biggest undeveloped oil field in the UK.

With this decision, the government is siding with oil and gas giants over a liveable future for all, whether that’s a habitable planet or not having to choose between heating and eating. But the past year has taught us that the UK government will back down, will u-turn, will bend to the will of the people if enough of us fight back.

And that’s exactly what we’re going to do. There's a lot to do. Keep up with what’s next in the fight, and the different ways we can take action together

STOP DEEP-SEA MINING
Join countries around the world in supporting a global moratorium on deep-sea mining.  Covering around 65 per cent of our planet, the deep sea contains some of the last truly pristine places on Earth. More than 5,000 new species have recently been discovered living in an area of the seabed considered a hot spot for deep sea mining. Check out Blue Marine foundation blog page to read why this potential devastating industry needs to be paused.
