Sunshine and smiles on the Day of Action 2025
Plastic Free North Devon hit the beaches, parks, streets and countryside with schools, organisations, businesses and individuals in the last weeks of January for their annual mass clean up.
17 locations
673 Volunteers
108 bags
540 KG’s of waste
All collected by groups of businesses, individuals, organisations and schools.
Plastic Free North Devon aims to galvanise the community to head outdoors no matter the weather to enjoy what nature has to offer and give back at the same time by doing a little clean. The community was lucky enough to enjoy the sunshine on the day and at Woolacombe they even had a silent disco to entertain the cleaners!
Plastic pollution is still a huge and growing issue for our environment, wildlife and us which isn’t going away any time soon. The charity believes that cleaning up and physically connecting people with the issue of plastic pollution is one of the ways to build knowledge, open up conversations and offer a way to tackle this global issue on a local scale.
Anne-Marie Eveleigh, Operations Manager, Plastic Free North Devon said: ‘ We are always blown away by the support and enthusiasm that our Day of Actions receives. Connecting with the issue at hand at the same time as chatting, and possibly dancing, is an amazing way to meet like minded people, have an impact and enjoy the outdoors.’
We would like to extend our thanks to all the amazing businesses and organisations alongside the individuals and schools to take part or contribute to this day.
