Actions to date:

  • Replaced plastic straws with compostable paper ones

  • Compostable containers for takeaway drinks

  • Compostable bagasse containers for food takeaways

  • Replaced plastic smoothie cups for reusable ones.

  • Paper bags for takeaway brownies/cakes/snacks

  • Wooden cutlery for takeaways

  • Stopped dividing up food into portion sized containers for storage – kept in bulk using old ice cream containers and distributed as needed.

  • Offers tap water refills (part of the refill Devon scheme)

  • Recycles all glass, plastic, tins and cardboard - collected by NDDC 

  • Offers 25p discount for those bringing a reusable cup for takeaways

  • No condiment sachets

  • Bulk buy Sugar cubes instead of individual sachets

Working on:

  • Alternative to fruitshoots

  • Considering total ban on single use coffee cups

  • Bulk buying condiment dispenser instead of individual bottles

  • Food waste collection
