Join us on our monthly family friendly walk to get to know the birds of Braunton.
No booking required. Just show up on the day.
A family-friendly walk along the Tarka Trail will be led by avid birder and wildlife enthusiast Andy Leat so that you may learn to know the birds of Braunton.
We’ll gather in front of the Braunton Countryside Centre and walk to the Wrafton Pond on the Tarka Trail. We’ll keep an eye out for any birds or other wildlife that frequents the Wrafton Pond, the river Caen, and the nearby surroundings.
The Tarka Trail has a level, paved surface, and the walk will be about a mile long, both ways. Because of this, it is suited for able adults and children at least 6 years old and older.
There will be a chance to use a telescope or binoculars to get a closer look at our feathered residents.
Please wear sturdy walking shoes or trainers, dress appropriately for the weather with warm clothes and waterproofs. Some binoculars will be provided but feel free to bring your own.
