A family friendly bird walk lead by local birding expert Martin Unwin, who has a huge array of local knowledge and experience identifying the birds around North Devon.
This family focused event will be suitable for all members of the family who are interested in learning more about the local species of birds in this area, whatever level of experience you consider yourself to be.
Suitable for Children 6yrs +
The walk will meet and start at Velator Quay car park and head along the Velator bank towards Horsey Island, with views of the Braunton Marshes, Horsey Island local nature reserve and the opening to the Taw estuary.
The terrain on this walk will be fairly good, as it follows the footpath, but expect it to be muddy/wet so wear appropriate sturdy footwear and dress appropriately for the weather. There are also some stone styles to climb over at some points in the walk, so this activity may not suit less able bodied individuals.
There will be a chance to use a telescope or binoculars to get a closer look at our feathered residents. Some binoculars will be provided but feel free to bring your own.
The event will go ahead unless weather is forecast to be absolutely awful, in which case walk will be postponed.
